Interactive Display Panels (IDPs) have largely replaced projectors in new boardrooms and classrooms. They're brighter in daylight, last longer, and don't need a lamp replacement every 18 months.
But they cost 2–3× more upfront. For very large halls (>40 seats), high-lumen laser projectors with motorised screens still win. For everyday classrooms and meeting rooms, the IDP is now the default — and the total cost of ownership over 5 years is actually lower.
